Paris - the last day
The plan was to have a park run at Bois de Bologna but found out that parkruns are suspended in France as a medical certificate is required . That after finding out that there is a parkrun in Montsouris park , south Paris .
So instead of a 0715/0730 wake-up stayed in bed till 10 ish with a plan to go to Montsouris park , watch the rugby and go with the flow .
The street outside the hotel was buzzing so we wandered , bought fruit yoghurt and a couple of banquettes one with jamón and cheese and the other Brie .
Decided to have a leisurely coffee at the French cafe sidewalk , and chatted with a local lady . It was nice .
H found a classical concert to attend so we booked that too .
Montsouris park was reached using our all day pass tram , metro and RER . But it was a lovely rural park inside urban Paris with little bandstand here and there . A bit up and down so glad the park run was not on . Hate hills .
Then off to the Celtic Corner to watch Ireland v France at rugby . Great game Ireland won .
Didn't want to rush things so watched Scotland v Wales briefly before returning to hotel to change clothes and go the see Mozart requiem and Bolero being performed at the Iglise near Concorde . I loved the Bolero but it was hard listening to the requiem in Latin for an hour .
To finish off a nice day the plan to get off near one if the busy stations backfired as it was a bit seedy so we returned to Ecole Militaire to a restaurant near the corner .
The indoor smoking kicks of my asthma but we shared a steak tartare and fries , raw egg on top and it was absolutely delicious . Finished off with some crepes and ice cream.
A great day .

The sights of Paris
A paper map is invaluable .
Our route took us to the
- Eiffel Tower
- Trocadero
- Arc de Triumph
- Champs de Elysses
- Concorde and it's obelisk
And a meander home via Invalides.
Next day we continued with
- pyramids of Louvre
- Notre Dame
- Latin Quarter
- Panetheon
- Jardin de Luxembourg
-1800 at musee dOrsay
Day 3 . Took the metro to the saint Chapel with its high decorative windows . First glance it just seems decorative repetitive windows . But when we look at the detail and read about it . It follows the bible in picture from Genesis to the resurrection and revelation. Wonderful .
